Frequently Asked Questions

Will my nose not become a 'pig nose' after long nose surgery?

We design the appropriate length and angle to match your facial proportions, preventing overcorrection. Correction is performed within a natural range.

Is there a possibility of recurrence after an arrow-tip nose surgery?

Edition performs surgery by structurally supporting the nasal tip to prevent recurrence.

Can a drooping nasal tip when smiling also be corrected?

Yes, septal extension and strengthening of the nasal tip support structure maintain a stable nasal tip even with facial expressions.

How can I tell whether my nose is long or my nasal tip is drooping?

A nose that is actually long differs from one that looks long because the tip droops downward. We distinguish them by measuring the shape, length, and height of the nasal tip together with the nasolabial angle (the angle between the nose and upper lip), and we make a judgment after also checking the septum with 3D CT.

What is an arrow nose?

This refers to a nasal tip that points downward sharply, like an arrowhead. It is often caused by the position of the alar cartilages and how far the septum has dropped, so it is corrected by raising the alar cartilages and adjusting the drooping septum.

Does the nasal tip naturally droop over time?

The nasal tip is made of cartilage and is constantly pulled when you smile, yawn, or open your mouth, so it can change over time. That is why it is important in surgical design to position the tip according to skin movement. The degree of change varies from person to person.

Does a long nose make the face look longer?

A drooping nasal tip can make the midface look longer. Positioning the tip to suit your facial proportions and enhancing three-dimensionality can be expected to make the face look less long, and the degree of change varies with facial bone structure.

Do I only need the nasal tip raised, or does the bridge also need work?

Raising only the nasal tip can make its connection to the bridge look unnatural, so we look at the entire line. Depending on the bridge, sometimes only the tip is corrected and sometimes both are addressed, and we decide the scope after 3D CT analysis.

What is an appropriate nasolabial angle?

The ideal nasolabial angle is considered to be about 95°–105° for women and 90°–95° for men. A drooping nose tip often has a narrow nasolabial angle, so it is corrected by widening the angle, and the target angle is adjusted to suit your facial proportions.

Will correcting it make my nostrils show a lot?

Raising the nasal tip too much can increase nostril exposure, so we design the angle within a range suited to your facial proportions. Avoiding overcorrection is the key to this surgery.

What cartilage is used to lift a drooping nasal tip?

We select or combine septal, ear, and costal cartilage according to the support required and the amount of usable tissue. The nose tip must be structurally supported to remain stable through changes in facial expression, so which cartilage is suitable is decided after 3D CT analysis.

How long does arrow nose and long nose correction take, and what anesthesia is used?

The surgery takes about 1 to 2 hours and is performed under sedation. About 2 to 3 follow-up visits are needed, and no hospitalization is required.

How long is the recovery period after arrow nose and long nose correction?

Sutures are removed after about 7 days, after which you can return to daily life. When the swelling subsides and the shape of the nose tip settles depends on the scope of surgery and your individual recovery.

How is aftercare and follow-up handled after arrow nose and long nose correction?

Regular follow-up takes place at 1 day, 5 days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after surgery, and in between you can ask about your progress via WhatsApp. The nose tip needs to be monitored over a long period, so we check it according to a set schedule.

What side effects can occur with arrow nose and long nose correction?

Bleeding, infection, swelling, asymmetry, re-drooping of the nasal tip, and other issues may occur, and their degree varies from person to person. Please decide after a thorough consultation.

How is the cost of arrow nose and long nose correction explained?

It depends on the extent of correction and the type of cartilage used. Once the plan is set through 3D CT diagnosis and consultation, our consultation manager will explain the details.
