Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between collagen boosters and fillers?
Fillers provide immediate volume, while collagen boosters stimulate natural collagen production for gradual, natural volume. More natural, longer-lasting, and improves skin elasticity itself.
When do the effects start to appear?
Collagen production begins about 4-6 weeks after the treatment and the effect appears over 2-3 months. It varies by product and skin condition, so we advise after checking during the consultation.
How long do the effects last?
The duration varies by product and individual skin condition, with individual differences. Product-specific characteristics are explained in detail during consultation.
How many sessions do I need?
1-3 sessions recommended depending on volume loss. Performed at 4-6 week intervals with personalized plans during consultation.
Are there any side effects?
Temporary swelling, bruising, and hardness may occur at injection sites but usually resolve within 1-2 weeks. Post-treatment massage is important.
How do collagen boosters build volume?
When biodegradable ingredients such as PDLLA, PLLA, or PCL are placed in the skin, the body responds by producing collagen in that area. Rather than the injected material itself providing volume, your own collagen fills in the space, so changes appear gradually.
What is the difference between Sculptra, Cellrdm, and Lituo?
Sculptra is made of PLLA and is valued for its longevity, while Cellrdm and Lituo are PCL-based. Lituo is characterized by microparticles that induce even collagen production, and which one suits you is decided at the consultation based on the area of volume loss and your skin condition.
How are collagen boosters different from skin boosters?
Skin boosters focus on skin texture, hydration, and regeneration, whereas collagen boosters focus on restoring lost volume and elasticity through collagen production. The treatment intervals also differ: 2–4 weeks for skin boosters and 4–6 weeks for collagen boosters.
For hollow under-eyes, which is better — filler or a collagen booster?
The two procedures have different goals. If you want immediate volume, filler is the right choice; if you want the area to fill in naturally through collagen production over several sessions, a collagen booster is the better fit. The under-eye area in particular must be approached safely, so the decision is made during the consultation.
Why do I need to massage after the procedure?
This helps the injected ingredients spread evenly rather than clumping in one spot. Without massage, firm lumps may remain, so please follow the method and duration we explain after the treatment.
My cheeks have hollowed and my face looks tired. Is a collagen booster right for me?
Areas that have lost volume, such as the cheeks, forehead, and temples, are where collagen boosters come in. However, the approach differs depending on whether the problem is hollowness or sagging, so we assess both before deciding on a direction.
Is there a reason for the 4–6 week interval between treatments?
Because that is roughly when collagen begins to form. The amount and placement for the next session need to be set based on how you responded to the previous one so the design is not excessive.
I don't see much change right after the procedure. Did something go wrong?
Collagen boosters do not fill in immediately; collagen begins to form from about 4–6 weeks, and changes appear over 2–3 months. Looking briefly fuller right after the treatment because of swelling, which then subsides, is also a normal course.
Why is a glow-boosting treatment included?
While collagen boosters address volume and elasticity, the glow treatment replenishes moisture and radiance at the skin surface. This combination addresses two concerns in different layers on the same day, and whether it is needed is decided during consultation.
The treated area feels hard. Is that okay?
Temporary firmness may occur after injection and usually softens over time. However, the degree and duration vary from person to person, so if it bothers you, let us know at your follow-up visit and we will check it.
I've already had fillers. Can I also have a collagen booster?
The design depends on where, what type, and how much filler you have had before. If the remaining volume is not taken into account, the result can be overdone, so please tell us your treatment history and we will plan accordingly.
If I keep getting these procedures, won't my face sag later?
Sagging is caused not by the procedure but by the loss of skin elasticity that comes with aging. Procedures that stimulate collagen production are actually used to slow that process, and responses vary from person to person.
