Frequently Asked Questions

I'm concerned about under-eye hollowing and wrinkles. Which is better—filler or Juvelook?

Filler and Juvelook have different treatment goals. Filler is preferable if you want immediate volume restoration; Juvelook is better if you prefer gradual, natural collagen stimulation over multiple sessions. Each has distinct advantages and disadvantages, so detailed consultation with your doctor is recommended before proceeding.

Will my face sag if I receive regular filler treatments over many years?

Sagging is not caused by filler itself, but rather by the natural loss of skin elasticity with aging. If sagging is a concern, combining collagen-stimulating treatments (such as Density or Juvelook) may be helpful.

How is anesthesia administered during filler treatment?

Depending on the area, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia or topical numbing cream, with relatively minimal discomfort. However, pain sensitivity varies individually and may differ based on the treatment area.

Can the results be reversed if I'm not satisfied?

Hyaluronic acid-based fillers can be adjusted or reversed using filler-dissolving injections. The direction will be determined through consultation.

Which areas can filler be used on?

It is used to restore volume in hollow areas such as the nasolabial folds, cheeks, and forehead, or to refine the lips, aegyo-sal (under-eye fullness), nose, and chin line. Because skin thickness and movement differ by area, we design a different product and injection amount for each.

What types of filler are there?

At our clinic, we choose among domestic Chaeum and imported Juvederm, Belotero, and Restylane. Each product differs in particle size and firmness, which determines which areas it is suitable for, and the choice is made during the consultation to match the area.

Do you use different fillers for different areas?

Yes. Different formulations are used for areas that need substantial volume and for thin, delicate areas. Different formulations may also be combined for different areas within the same face.

How long does filler last?

We generally advise about 6–18 months, depending on the area and the product. Areas with more movement tend to absorb filler faster, so we discuss when to touch up after checking your progress.

How long do swelling and bruising last after the procedure?

Temporary swelling and bruising may last about 2–3 days and gradually subside. At around 1 week, as the filler settles, the contour looks more natural. Recovery speed varies from person to person.

What happens if the filler clumps or becomes asymmetrical?

In rare cases, lumps or asymmetry may appear, so we monitor your progress and make adjustments if needed. If a hyaluronic acid filler was used, we may discuss options during the consultation such as reducing the amount or repositioning it with a dissolving injection.

When is a filler-dissolving injection used?

It is used when the result differs from the direction you wanted, when a particular area looks overdone, or when lumps need to be smoothed out. It applies to hyaluronic acid fillers, and treatment proceeds after the scope is determined through consultation.

Can I get filler and Botox together?

Filler restores lost volume and Botox relaxes muscle movement, so they serve different purposes and are sometimes designed together. The areas, order, and whether to do them on the same day are decided during consultation.

Do lip fillers look obvious?

This is an area where results vary greatly depending on the amount and placement of the injection. We design with the balance of the whole face in mind so the result is not excessive, and we decide on the amount after first confirming the degree of change you want.

For the nose, should I choose filler or surgery?

Filler adds missing volume, while surgery addresses the structure itself, so the approaches differ. The choice depends on the degree of change you want and the condition of your nose, so we decide together during consultation.

Can I go straight to work after filler?

The procedure takes about 10 to 20 minutes, and you can return to daily life right afterward. However, swelling or bruising may appear depending on the area, so if you have an important event, let us know in advance and we will coordinate the timing.

Is there anything I should be careful about after the procedure?

Do not press or rub the treated area hard, and for a few days avoid environments with prolonged heat, such as saunas. If anything concerns you while it settles, let us know at your follow-up visit and we will check it.

This is my first time. How is the amount decided?

We first check the volume in each area and the balance of the whole face before planning the injections. For first-timers, adding more gradually while monitoring progress, rather than injecting a lot at once, tends to produce more natural results.
