Frequently Asked Questions
Under what conditions were the before and after photos posted here taken?
We post before and after photos of the same person taken under the same conditions (size, angle, lighting, makeup, and background). The photo conditions for each case are shown when you open the photo; because the same result can look different under different conditions, we take photos under matching conditions.
Why do I need to log in to see the before photos?
Before photos show the patient's face as it is, so in accordance with clinic policy, the originals can only be viewed after logging in as a member; they are blurred for visitors who are not logged in. You can still enlarge the photos without logging in.
Will I get exactly the same result as in the photos?
No. As noted below the photos, results may vary from person to person. Bone and cartilage structure, skin thickness, and recovery speed differ for everyone, so the same surgery does not produce the same result. Before and after photos are not a promise of results but a reference showing what kind of change was aimed for.
When were the photos taken after surgery?
For each case, we show when the photos were taken (the procedure date and the later photo date). Because appearance right after surgery differs from appearance several months later, it is best to check the follow-up timing first when viewing the photos.
What do the photo conditions noted on the photos mean?
This refers to the conditions under which a photo was taken, such as angle, lighting, and background. The same face can look different with brighter lighting or a slightly different angle, so we note these conditions to let you check whether the before and after photos were taken under the same conditions.
Were the photos posted with the patients' consent?
Yes, these photos were posted by the clinic with the patient's consent. A watermark is applied when they are posted, and no information that could identify the patient is shown.
Can I view them by angle?
Yes. For each case, you can switch between photos taken at different angles, such as front and side views. When the change in profile is significant, as in rhinoplasty, it is hard to judge from the front view alone, so it is better to look at several angles together.
Can side effects occur?
Every surgery and procedure carries the possibility of side effects. Swelling, bruising, reduced sensation, scarring, asymmetry, and other effects may occur, and recovery speed and results vary by individual, so at Edition we conduct follow-up visits at 1 day, 5 days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after surgery. We explain the possible effects during the consultation.
Why do results look different from case to case for the same procedure?
Because everyone starts from a different point. Original bone and cartilage structure, skin condition, and previous surgery differ from person to person, so even with the same method the degree of change differs. That is why photos are best viewed not as a standard for results but as a reference for what condition each case started from and what it aimed for.
Is it okay to choose a clinic based only on before-and-after photos?
Photos are only one of several references. We recommend also checking whether the surgeon is a board-certified plastic surgeon, whether the doctor you consulted with also performs the surgery and follow-up, what is used for pre-operative diagnosis, and whether there is a set follow-up schedule.
For which procedures can I view photos?
You can browse by category, including Revision Rhinoplasty, Rhinoplasty, Eye Surgery, Lifting, Anti-Aging Surgery, Facial Contouring, Breast and Body, and Skin. Select the procedure you want to see in the tabs at the top to view only those cases.
How can I check whether a case is similar to my condition?
Choose the same procedure in the category, then look at the starting condition in the pre-surgery photos and the follow-up timing together. However, it is difficult to judge your own structure from photos alone, so during consultation we confirm your actual structure with 3D CT and outline the possible options.
How do I request a consultation after viewing the photos?
You can book by phone at +82-2-591-0100, through WhatsApp, or via the consultation request on our website. If there is a case you have in mind, tell us during your consultation and we will review together which aspects are similar and which are different.
How long does it take to reach the results shown in the photos?
It depends on the type of surgery. After nose surgery, return to social activities takes about 2 weeks; after eye surgery, the line takes 1–3 months to settle, and the final result is assessed at 6 months. Recovery speed varies from person to person, so we check your condition through regular follow-up.
If I have surgery, will my photos also be posted?
We never post photos without the patient's consent. They are used only if you agree to posting, and only for the areas you agreed to.
How do I sign up?
You can sign up through Log In / Sign Up at the top of the website. Once you sign up, you can view the original pre-surgery photos and the full text of surgery reviews.
Are there procedures for which photos have not been posted yet?
Yes. The number of posted cases differs by category, and some categories are still being prepared. If there are no photos yet for the procedure you are looking for, please contact us by phone at +82-2-591-0100 or through WhatsApp, and we will guide you during your consultation.
